The city is full of opportunity.
Imagine looking across a city and seeing more than buildings. A tower becomes a vertical territory. A block becomes a set of places you can approach, enter, and defend. Around you are holdings waiting to be claimed. Some are close enough to visit from your own voxel; others are a journey across the skyline.
Opportunity attracts rivals. Another player may challenge your control. And somewhere in the system is an adversary with no ordinary wallet or personal ambition: Agent Smith. Smith watches for neglected Dominion. Its arrival may begin as a faint corruption at the edge of your space, spread across the room, and end in a contest for control. A lost hold need not be the end of your story: you may challenge again and win Dominion back.
The compelling question is not only what can I acquire? It is what will I keep, and how will I respond when control changes?
Voxscape joins a visual 3D world to an on-chain contest over game state. The present V64 release is a limited Base Sepolia practice alpha. The story describes the intended experience; the chapters below separate live contract rules from visual demonstrations and future ambitions.
What is real in V64?
On chain now
Enrollment, a refundable testnet bond, abstract grid-cell claims, test-only Spatial Title, Dominion, sieges, outcomes, season finalization, and bond withdrawal are rules of the Base Sepolia contract.
Visual now
The browser reads verified contract state and displays it in Cesium. Honolulu placement, child-room divisions, voxel interiors, grounding corrections, neighboring routes, and Smith story effects are visual interpretations or demonstrations.
Drafting bridge
The Studio Spatial Workflow can search supported property data, inspect buildings and parcels, adjust a parent voxel, use GeoLibre geometry, and export a visual draft. This is not a V64 on-chain geographic claim.
Not here yet
A nationwide on-chain parcel identity, legal property rights, separate child-room tokens, prizes, an open enrollment wallet UI, or a self-running Smith bot are not delivered by V64. Studio's Unreal, Marble, and OpenSim components are not part of this protocol viewer.
How to get started
- Read the season status. Open the live visual interface. Check the network banner, current epoch, season status, and any stale-snapshot warning. Reading the world does not require a wallet.
- Prepare a test wallet. For wallet actions, use an EVM wallet such as MetaMask on Base Sepolia, chain 84532, with a little Base Sepolia test ETH for gas. Never use mainnet ETH for this alpha or enter a seed phrase into this site.
- Enroll if registration is open. The contract accepts one principal ID per wallet until registration-end epoch 720, with at least 0.000001 Base Sepolia test ETH as the season bond, plus gas. Enrollment is currently a controlled, separate transaction flow—not an open button in this visual client. If registration has ended or you are not enrolled, you can still explore but cannot claim with that wallet.
- Prepare the 3D source. The Cesium scene requires a working Cesium ion token with read access to World Terrain (asset 1). A shared, URL-restricted public token can also include Google's photorealistic 3D tiles through ion (asset 2275207), so players need not enter a Google key. A personal Google Map Tiles API key remains an optional override. The chain dashboard remains readable if imagery is unavailable.
- Explore first. Once ion World Terrain loads, select a verified cell, orbit in Cesium, enter its volume, and inspect Title, Dominion, Smith eligibility, and contest history. The scene is a visual demo layout.
- Claim when eligible. Use Claim another voxel in the main page. Connect your enrolled wallet; the page can request Base Sepolia selection. Choose an unoccupied integer cell, verify and simulate, then review the wallet's network, destination, zero value, and gas before confirming. Only your wallet's final Confirm broadcasts.
- Watch the chain result. Keep the transaction hash. The page waits for confirmations and checks the emitted claim event. If the outcome is uncertain, inspect the hash before retrying; do not blindly send a duplicate.
Open Cell 01, read its Title and Dominion, enter a room, look toward its face-adjacent neighbor, exit, and inspect the claim panel. You can learn the world without signing anything.
Explore the world in 3D
The live 3D view requires Cesium ion World Terrain. It will not open on a placeholder ellipsoid when the ion token is missing or the terrain asset cannot load. The public viewer can ship a scoped ion token restricted to the app's URLs. When that token also has access to the Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles ion asset (2275207), the city streams through ion with no separate Google key in the browser. A player's own Google Map Tiles API key can override this route. If photorealistic tiles are unavailable, ion terrain remains visible but the city is not photorealistic. Imagery services can fail or cost money under their providers' terms. The contract and chain dashboard do not depend on them.
Select a voxel to see its parent volume, an eight-room visual split, status rim, Title and Dominion, and neighboring claimed cells. Orbit or focus the camera outside. Enter voxel opens a room view with a local floor grid and direction marker. Hold W/A/S/D to move, drag to look, use left/right arrows to turn, E/Q or Page Up/Page Down to rise or lower, and Escape to exit. Onscreen controls are available too. Movement stays within the parent volume.
The eight child rooms help you read the space; they are not eight separately titled assets in V64. A neighbor beacon represents a verified claimed face-adjacent cell, not every apparent nearby building. Distances are from the declared demo layout, not surveyed distances. Visual Grounding estimates a surface from tiles and lets you correct height in this browser only; it does not modify the contract.
Property Hopper: scout within 500 feet
In Studio Spatial Workflow, search for a U.S. city and state, then click Start Property Hopper · 500 ft if selection is not already active. The city view uses a crosshair cursor while Hopper is active. Click a visible block in Cesium; a click marker confirms the action and the map reports whether Studio is scanning, selected a property, or encountered an error. The Studio property service searches for nearby parcel and building candidates. Colored temporary 10-foot parent rooms and parcel outlines appear in the 3D view; orange volumes indicate selectable buildings. Click one in Cesium—or use the matching colored list row—to choose a parcel or building basis. The map's View property details link takes you to the editable draft below. Click elsewhere to scan a new 500-foot neighborhood. The colors and preview height are approximate selection aids, not ownership or verified surveyed boundaries.
After selection, the workflow brings over Studio methods for changing parent shape and placement, importing portable GeoJSON/GeoLibre geometry, and exporting a spatial draft. Supported municipal data may be marked verified; broad modeled coverage is estimated. A GeoLibre share link by itself records provenance but does not import private layers. Local Property Hopper discovery needs the Studio API or an equivalent hosted proxy; without it, the on-chain viewer still works. All of this remains a visual-only draft until a future, separately reviewed geographic protocol is defined.
Spatial Title is not Dominion.
| RIGHT | WHO HOLDS IT | HOW IT CHANGES IN V64 |
|---|---|---|
| Spatial Title | The wallet that first claims the practice cell. | The V64 siege functions do not transfer it. The contract has no general resale or Title-transfer function. |
| Dominion | A game principal ID—initially the claimant's principal. | A successful siege can move it to a challenger or to Smith. The original Title wallet remains unchanged. |
| Child rooms | No separate holder in V64. | They are a visual subdivision of one parent voxel, not independent tokens. |
When a voxel is claimed, the contract sets both Title and Dominion. Later, the same voxel can have one wallet as Title owner and a different principal as Dominion controller. The inspector shows both because a single “owner” label would hide the central game mechanic. Even if Smith takes Dominion, it never receives Spatial Title through the siege path.
Seasons, blocks, and epochs
V64 is one bounded practice season. An epoch is a contract-defined interval of 100 Base Sepolia blocks, counted from the source contract's deployment block: floor((current block − epoch-zero block) / 100). This is a block count, not a guaranteed duration in minutes or hours. Always read the current on-chain epoch; do not rely on a calendar estimate.
A siege declared at epoch E has a commitment window before E+1, a reveal window from E+1 until before E+2, and can be resolved at E+2 or later. These windows are measured by the contract's block-epoch clock. Commitments, reveals, and resolution are separate transactions with gas; missing a window can forfeit an effective response.
Claiming a practice voxel
The live V64 claim call is claimPracticeVoxel(x, y, z). Each coordinate must be a whole number from −1000 to 1000. The token ID is derived from those three integers. The cell must be unoccupied; the wallet must already be enrolled; each enrolled wallet can claim at most three cells; and the claim must occur no later than end epoch 1500. A successful claim sends zero test ETH value to the contract but still costs test ETH gas.
The interface can suggest a free face-adjacent cell near the verified claims. Adjacency is a navigation suggestion, not a contract requirement. It verifies a fresh chain snapshot and simulates the proposed call before opening the wallet; it checks again immediately before asking the wallet to send. The chain can still change while your wallet confirmation is open, so a simulation is not a guarantee.
A claim is for an abstract practice grid cell, not for the parcel, building, or landmark visible under the Cesium box. The Studio spatial draft is a design artifact, not a claim instruction. Do not copy real-world latitude, longitude, or parcel coordinates into the integer-grid claim form.
Challenge, defend, and win back
During the live play window, an enrolled player may call declareSiege(tokenId) against a voxel whose Dominion belongs to another principal. One siege may be active on a voxel at a time. Self-attacks, occupied siege slots, and Smith's bounded priority interval can prevent declaration. The current visual client does not provide a wallet send path for human siege transactions; this chapter explains the contract, not a ready-to-click action in the viewer.
Human participants use a commit–reveal order. Before the reveal epoch, each side commits a hash of its order. During the reveal epoch, it reveals force from 0–100, a tactic from 0–2, and the salt that matches its commitment. A defender's actual reveal counts as human activity for Smith's inactivity clock. An order's salt should be handled carefully: if lost, the player cannot reveal that commitment; if disclosed too soon, the hidden-order benefit is undermined.
After the resolution epoch, anyone can invoke resolveSiege. The contract compares force plus tactic bonuses: tactic 1 grants the attacker 12, tactic 0 grants either side 4, and tactic 2 grants the defender 12. The attacker wins only if its resulting total is strictly greater than the defender's; ties favor the defender. If the attacker wins, Dominion changes. Spatial Title stays with its wallet. A player whose Dominion was taken by Smith may later declare a human siege against Smith, subject to the same live-window and active-siege rules. A win-back is possible, not automatic.
Agent Smith is always a pressure.
Smith is a contract-defined game principal, not a separate human-held title wallet. Anyone may submit the permitted declareSmithSiege transaction once the contract says a target is eligible; an external caller must still pay gas. Smith does not wake up and broadcast by itself. The current visual panel can perform a read-only simulation, but cannot submit a Smith siege. A simulated result is not permission to broadcast.
When can Smith attack?
The season must be within its valid play window with two epochs left; the cell must be claimed; a human principal must hold Dominion; novice protection must have expired; and the target must be stale for at least 16 epochs since its last qualifying human action. There must be no active siege on that cell, Smith must have a free concurrent slot, and its virtual treasury must cover the attack. Smith can have at most one active siege. Its attack costs 10 virtual units; the treasury refills at one virtual unit per epoch up to 60. This treasury is game state, not withdrawable ETH.
A newly claimed cell has three epochs of novice protection. Once a cell becomes stale, Smith has a bounded five-epoch priority interval during which a human declaration against that target is blocked—even if Smith cannot use its slot or treasury. Human challenges can resume after that interval if the other rules allow them. This mechanic deserves attention; it is not a promise that a bot will actually attack.
Inside a Smith siege
Smith's attack is deterministic: force 50 with attack tactic 1. It is treated as already revealed. A human defender may commit and reveal an order within the contract windows. If Smith wins at resolution, it takes Dominion only. A human challenger can later contest Smith; Smith then defends with force 56 and defense tactic 2. The exact result depends on valid orders and the contract formula, and the defense must be resolved on chain.
Strategy for a changing world
- Scout before acquiring. Compare occupied cells and neighbor routes; watch the inspector rather than assuming every colored structure is a claimable voxel.
- Respect the clock. Registration, declarations, commitments, reveals, and resolution have different epochs. An apparently safe plan can fail because a window closes between transactions.
- Track two rights. Title can remain with you while Dominion is contested or lost. Decide whether your goal is holding a cell long-term, maintaining control, or mounting a recovery.
- Plan around Smith's inactivity pressure. A qualifying human defender reveal or successful human attack resets the relevant activity clock. Merely looking at a voxel, moving in Cesium, or watching the storyboard does not.
- Keep a gas reserve. Claims, commits, reveals, resolutions, and possible bond withdrawal each need separate transactions. Test ETH is not real money, but failed or unnecessary calls can still consume testnet gas.
- Do not confuse presentation with proof. Grounding, parcel outlines, city tiles, and spatial drafts are helpful for making the world legible; only the contract and verified transactions determine V64 game rights.
- Recheck after every contest. Dominion may change atomically at resolution. Refresh the viewer and inspect the outcome event before choosing a counter-challenge.
No strategy guarantees a win. Other players, transaction ordering, missed windows, RPC outages, and changing chain state can alter what actions are available.
Safety, trust, and limits
- This is an unaudited Base Sepolia practice alpha. Do not send mainnet assets or treat test-only game rights as financial or real-property rights.
- Never paste a seed phrase or private key into the app, this guide, a chat, or an RPC field. Browser-stored tile API keys are readable by scripts on the same origin; use browser-restricted keys, not secret server credentials.
- The viewer relies on a chosen Base Sepolia RPC. It checks pinned code and event/state consistency, but it is not an independent cryptographic light client. A stale or failed read disables action preparation. Refresh and independently inspect the contract and transaction in a block explorer when needed.
- Only the separate claim panel currently connects a wallet for sending. The Cesium world and Smith readiness panel are read-only. Wallet confirmation is a broadcast, and wallet routing or fees may differ from a requested plan: reject unexpected network, account, destination, amount, or batch behavior.
- Claims cannot be sold or transferred through this V64 contract, and there are no prizes or yield. A bond may be withdrawn only after the end epoch under the contract's rules; gas is not refundable.
Glossary
- Abstract grid
- The integer
(x,y,z)coordinate system used for V64 practice cells. It has no on-chain geographic anchor. - Active siege
- The single unresolved contest occupying a voxel's siege slot. A second siege on that same voxel cannot begin until it clears.
- Agent Smith
- The deterministic, contract-defined adversary that may attack eligible stale Dominion. It cannot take Spatial Title through a siege.
- Base Sepolia
- The test blockchain used by this alpha; chain ID 84532. Its test ETH pays testnet gas and is not mainnet ETH.
- Block
- A numbered chain unit. V64 derives its epoch clock from block numbers, not wall-clock time.
- Bond
- Test ETH sent on enrollment, at least 0.000001 test ETH in this season; held by the contract and withdrawable only under its post-season rule.
- Cesium
- The browser's 3D globe and camera engine. It visualizes but does not decide contract rights.
- Cesium ion World Terrain
- The required ion-backed terrain asset (ID 1) under the protocol's 3D scene. A scoped public-client ion token must load it before players can use that scene; it does not confer game rights. Optional Google photorealistic city tiles can stream through ion asset 2275207 when access is granted.
- Child room
- One of eight visual subdivisions inside a V64 parent voxel. Not a separately titled token.
- Claim
- The contract action that creates a previously unoccupied practice cell and assigns initial Title and Dominion.
- Commit–reveal
- The two-step hidden-order process: post a commitment hash, then reveal its matching order during the later window.
- Dominion
- The game's current control of a voxel, held by a principal and transferable by a successful siege.
- Epoch
- A 100-block interval in this deployed V64 season. Its real-time length can vary.
- Face-adjacent
- A grid neighbor differing by one unit on exactly one axis. The viewer uses it for route and suggestion UI.
- Finalization
- The post-season contract action after end epoch when no active sieges remain. It records season totals and roots.
- GeoLibre
- A geometry review/import path in the Studio spatial drafting workflow; it does not mint a V64 geographic voxel.
- Gas
- The test ETH transaction fee charged by Base Sepolia for writes. Gas is separate from a claim's zero ETH value or an enrollment bond.
- Grounding
- A visual estimate or manual correction aligning Cesium voxel geometry with nearby 3D-tile surfaces. It is not surveyed elevation.
- Outcome
- The contract-recorded siege result. A winning attacker takes Dominion; Title is unchanged.
- Property Hopper
- Studio's 500-foot parcel/building discovery and temporary parent-room preview used to choose a visual draft location in Cesium. It does not claim a V64 token.
- Principal
- A unique game identity hash associated with one enrolled wallet for this season.
- RPC
- A blockchain endpoint used to read Base Sepolia state and submit or simulate calls. The viewer depends on the selected endpoint's availability.
- Season
- The bounded registration and play period configured in the contract. V64's play starts at epoch 750 and ends at 1500.
- Smith priority
- A five-epoch interval after staleness begins when a human siege declaration against that target is blocked.
- Spatial draft
- A Studio-derived, editable parcel/building voxel design. Exporting it does not change on-chain state.
- Spatial Title
- The test-only claim record for an abstract V64 cell, held by the claimant wallet. It is not legal property title.
- Stale snapshot
- The last verified viewer state retained after a transient RPC error. It may be explored, but must not be used as fresh action approval.
- Token ID
- The hash identifying an abstract claimed grid cell in this contract.
- Virtual treasury
- Smith's capped, regenerating in-game attack resource. It is not ETH and cannot be withdrawn.
- Voxel
- A volumetric cell in the game's grid and its 3D visual representation. In V64 one parent cell is one claimable asset.
Common questions
Can I claim the building I see?
No. You can draft a visual voxel over a building or property using Studio methods, but V64 claims only abstract integer grid cells. Real-world geographic identity and overlap rules would need a future contract and separate review.
If Smith wins, do I lose my voxel forever?
Smith can take Dominion, not Spatial Title. A later successful human challenge can restore Dominion, if the contract windows and siege rules permit. Neither recovery nor victory is guaranteed.
Does Smith attack automatically?
No autonomous transaction occurs inside the contract. Any account may trigger an eligible Smith declaration by sending a transaction and paying gas. The current visual interface only simulates that call read-only.
What if the live view is stale?
Do not use it to approve an action. Retry the chain read or select another trusted Base Sepolia HTTPS RPC, then verify the refreshed block and contract details.
Do my three claims include child rooms?
No. The three-claim cap counts parent practice cells claimed by your wallet. The room split is visual only.
Is this Voxscape Studio?
No. Protocol is the focused on-chain game and Cesium client. It reuses selected Studio spatial-discovery methods, while Studio remains the broader creation environment.
